There are levels to existence. Layers through which we move as we live and struggle. Life unfolds like a series of stages, each one demanding its own questions, its own answers. And only when one level is complete—its puzzles solved, its lessons absorbed—does the next reveal itself.
It’s not about regret; it’s about forward motion.
Every generation’s best efforts carry within them the seeds of tomorrow’s challenges. What we thought was enough a century ago, a decade ago, even last year, now reveals its limitations. And today, we are called to act, we are called to be intentional, not in judgment of the past, but in response to the needs of now.
In the best of our efforts today are the sprouts of the problems we will be called to face tomorrow. That’s the cycle. That’s the invitation.
So the real question isn’t what could we have done differently?
It is: What do we need to do today? Now? Right here in this moment?
And so, with awareness and intention, we move, not in pursuit of perfection, but in service of what today is asking of us. What life demands from us. One level at a time. One answer at a time. Until the next call comes.
Simply put, I’ve come to see that in every solution, there lies the seed of the next challenge. And in every moment, a call to presence.
Best of wishes to all of us.
